CONCEPT OF GOD IN ISLAM

NIFAQ (HYPOCRISY)

Islam is a Semitic faith, which has greater than 1.2 billion adherents all-over the world. Islam means “submission to the will of Allah”. Muslims-accept the Qur’an, because the phrase of God revealed to Prophet Mohammed(peace be upon him). Islam states that Allah despatched messengers and-prophets all through the ages with the-message of the Unity of God, and-accountability within the Hereafter. Islam thus makes it an article of religion to-believe within the earlier prophets, beginning with Adam, and together with Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, John, Jesus and many-others (might peace be on all of them).

The Most Concise Definition of God:

The most concise definition of God-in Islam is given in 4 verses of-Surah Ikhlas which is Chapter 112 of the Holy Qur’an:

1, “Say: He is Allah, The one and Only.
2. “Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
3. “He begets not, neither is He begotten.
4. “And there is none like unto Him.”
(Holy Qur’an 112:1-4)

The phrase ‘“Assamad ‘ is tough to-translate. It means ‘absolute existence’,which will be attributed solely to Allah, all different existence being temporal-Or conditional. It additionally signifies that Allah will not be depending on any person-or factor however all individuals and issues are depending on Him.

Surah Ikhlas – the touchstone of theology:

Surah Ikhlas (Chapter 112) of the-Holy Qur’an, is the touchstone of-theology. ‘Theo’ in Greek means-God and logy means examine. Thus-Theology means examine of God and to Muslims this 4 traces definition of-Almighty God serves because the touchstone of the examine of God. Any-candidate to divinity should be topic to this ‘acid check’. Since the-attributes of Allah given on this chapter are distinctive, false gods and-pretenders to divinitycan be simply dismissed utilizing these verses.

What does Islam say about ‘god-men’?

India is usually referred to as the land ofx
‘god-men’. This is as a result of abundance-of so referred to as non secular masters in India. Many of those ‘babas’ and ‘saints’have a big following in lots of international locations. Islam abhors deification of any-human being.

To perceive the Islamic stand-towards such pretenders to divinity let us-analyze one such ‘god-man’, Osho Rajneesh. Rajneesh was one among-the multitude of ‘non secular academics’-produced by India. In May 1981 he-went to U.S.A. and established a city referred to as ‘Rajneeshpuram”‘. He later fell-foul of the West and was finally arrested and asked to leave the country. He came back to India and started a commune in Pune which is now-known as the ‘Osho’ commune. He died in 1990. The followers of Osho-Rajneesh believe that he is Almighty God. A-visitor to the “Osho commune’-in Pune will discover the next epitaph on his tombstone:

“Osho – by no means, born by no means died:solely visited the planet earth between
11″ December 1931 to 19” January 1990”

They overlook to say that he was-not given visa for 21 different-countries of the world. The followers of Rajneesh see no downside of their’god’ visiting the earth and reguiring a visa to enter a rustic!

Let us put this candidate todivinity, Bhagwan Rajneesh, to the check of Surah Ikhlas, the touchstone of theology:

i) The first criterion is “Say, He is-Allah, one and solely”. Is Rajneesh-one and solely? No! There are many individuals like Rajneesh who claim-divinity. Some disciples of Rajneesh should still maintain that Rajneesh is-one and solely.

ii) The second criterion is, “Allah is-absolute and everlasting’. Rajneesh was:certainly not absolute and everlasting since he died in 1990. We know-from his biography that he was affected by diabetes, Asthma, and power backache. He alleged that the usA.Government gave-him gradual poison in Jail. Imagine Almighty God being poisoned! Rajneesh was neither absolute nor everlasting.

iii) The third criterion is ‘He begets-not, neither is He begotten’. We know-that Rajneesh was born in Jabalpur in India and had a mom as-well as a father who later grew to become his disciples.

In May 1981 he went to U.S.A. and-establised a towncalled’Rajneeshpuram’. He later fell-foul of the West and was finally-arrested and requested to leave-the nation. He got here again to India-and began a commune in Pune which is now often known as the ‘Osho’commune. He died in 1990. the followers of Osho Rajneesh believe-that he’s Almighty God. A customer to the ‘Osho commune’ in Pune-will discover the next epitah on his tombstone:”Osho – never, born-never died: only visited the planet earth between 11th December-1931 to 19th january 1990”.

They overlook to say that he was not granted visa for 21 international locations of the-world. Can an individual think about a ‘God’ visiting the earth and requiring a visa-to enter a rustic! The Arcbishop of Greece stated that if Rajneesh had not-been deported, they’d have burnt his home and people of his discipiles.

What is your opinion?

The fourth check, which is the most-stringent, is “There is none like unto-Him”. The second you’ll be able to think about “God’ or examine “God’ to anything-then he (the candidate to divinity) will not be God. It will not be doable to-conjure up a psychological image of the One True-God. We know that Rajneesh-was a human being with a white flowing beard. He had 2 eyes 2 ears, 1-nose, 1 mouthPhotographs and posters of Rajneesh can be found in-plenty. The second you’ll be able to think about what god is, heis not God.

Many are tempted to make anthropomorphic comparisons who was-given the title of Mr. Universe, the strongest man within the worl. What is the-concluding comment to this part of “acid-test”? This stated testcannot be-passed by anybody besides the true God.

By what identify can we name God?

The Muslims desire calling Allah,as a substitute of the English phrase “God’. The-Arabic word, “Allah’, is pure and unigue, unlike the English word “God”which will be performed round with.

If you add ‘s’ to the phrase God, it-becomes “Gods’ that’s the plural of God.Allah is one and singular, there isn’t a plural of Allah. If you add ‘dess’ to the-word God, it turns into ‘Goddess’ that’s a-female God. There is nothing like-male Allah or feminine Allah. Allah has no gender. If you pre-fix tin before-the phrase God, it turns into tin-God i.e., faux God. Allah is a unigue phrase, which doesn’t conjure up any psychological image nor can or not it’s performed around-with. Therefore the Muslims prefer-saying ‘Allah’, however typically while-speaking to the non-Muslims we might have to make use of the inappropriate word-God for Allah. Since the meant viewers of this e book is normal in-nature, consisting of each Muslims as well-as non-Muslims, I’ve used-the phrase God as a substitute of Allah in a number of locations on this article.

God doesn’t turns into a human being

Some individuals argue that God can-do every little thing, then why can’t He take-human type? If God needs He can grow to be a-human being. But then He-no longer stays God as a result of the gualities of God and human beings in-many respects are utterly incompatible. The following paragraphs will-show the absurdity of the concept of God changing into a human being.

God is immortal and human beings-are mortal. You can’t have a God-man i.e. an immortal being, and on the similar time and within the same-entity. It is meaningless. God doesn’t have a starting whereas human-beings have a starting. You can’t have an individual, not having a-beginning and on the similar time having a-beginning. Human being have-an finish You can’t have a being, which has no finish and an finish at the-same time. It is meaningless.

God Almighty doesn’t require to-eat whereas human beings require-nourishment to maintain life.

Say, “Is it other than Allāh I should take as a protector, Creator of the heavens and earth, while it is He who feeds and is not fed?”
(Holy Qur’an 6 :14)

God doesn’t require relaxation or sleep-while human beings can’t go-indefinitely with out relaxation.

Allāh – there isn’t a deity besides Him, the Ever-Living,[Whose life is perfect, complete and eternal, without beginning or end, and through whom all created life originated and continues.
] the Self-Sustaining.[Dependent on none for His existence while being the sustainer and administrator of all created existence] Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs no matter is within the heavens and no matter is on the earth. Who is it that may intercede with Him besides by His permission? He is aware of what’s [presently] earlier than them and what shall be after them,[Allāh’s knowledge encompasses every aspect of His creations in the past, present and future] and so they embody not a factor of His information aside from what He wills. His Kursī[Chair or footstool. It is not to be confused with al-ʿArsh (the Throne) , which is infinitely higher and greater than al-Kursī] extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High,[Above all of His creations and superior to them in essence, rank and position.] the Most Great.[Whose greatness is unlimited, beyond description or imagination.]
(Holy Qur’an 2:255)

Worship of one other human is-useless:

If the concept of God changing into a-human is unacceptable, we should additionally agree-that there may be due to this fact no sense in worshipping one other human. If God-becomes a human type, He ceases to be God and possesses all the-qualities of a human. For instance if a superb professor meets with an-accident and suffers irreparable loss of-memory, it might be silly on the-part of his college students to-continue to take classes from him in that topic.

Moreover if God takes human-form, the identical human can’t later-become God, since human beings, by definition, don’t possess the-power to grow to be God. The worship of God in a-human type is therefore-a logical fallacy and ought to be abhorred in all its kinds.

What is the essence of Zen

That is the rationale why the Holy-Qur’an speaks in opposition to all kinds of-anthropomorphism.The superb Our’an says within the following verse:

There is nothing like unto Him,[There is no similarity whatsoever between the Creator and His creation in essence, in attributes or in deed.]
(Al-Qur’an 42:11)

God doesn’t carry out ungodly acts:

The attributes of Almighty God-preclude any evil since God is the-fountainhead of justice, mercy and reality. God can by no means be thought of-as doing an ungodly act. Hence we can’t think about God telling a lie, being unjust, making a mistake, forgetting issues, and such other-human failings.Similarly God can do-injustice if he desires however He will-never do it as a result of being unjust is an ungodly act.

The Holy Qur’an says:

Indeed, Allāh doesn’t do injustice, [even] as a lot as an atom’s weight; whereas if there’s a good deed, He multiplies it and offers from Himself an excellent reward
((Holy Qur’an 4:40)

SIMILAR POST:

God will be unjust if he desires, but-the second God does injustice He ceases to be God.

God doesn’t overlook nor does He make errors:

God is not going to overlook anything-because forgetting is an ungodly act, which-reeks of human limitations and failing. Similarly God is not going to make a-mistake, as a result of making errors is an ungodly act.

[Moses] stated, “The information thereof is with my Lord in a file. My Lord neither errs nor forgets
(Holy ,Qur’an (20:52)

God performs Godly acts:

He has energy over all issues: The-Islamic idea of God is that God has-power over all issues. The Holy Qur’an says in a number of locations:

“For verily Allah has power over all things”
(Holy Qur’an (2:106)
(Holy Qur’an (2:109)
(Holy Qur’an (2:284)
(Holy Qur’an (3:29)
(Holy Qur’an (16:77)
(Holy Qur’an (35:1)

Futher the Glorious Qur’an says:

“Allah is the doer of all He intends”
(Holy Qur’an (85:16)

We should understand that Allah-intends solely Godly acts and not-ungodly acts.

Many religions at some point-believe,instantly or not directly in the-philosophy of anthropomorphism i.e. God-becoming a human type. Their-contention is that Almighty God is so pure and holy that He is unaware-of the hardships, shortcomings and emotions of human beings. In order-to set the foundations for human beings He got here all the way down to earth within the type of-a human. This misleading logic has-fooled numerous hundreds of thousands by means of the-ages. Let us now analyze this argument and see if it stands to purpose.

The Creator prepares the-instruction guide:

Allah has endowed us humans-with purpose and intelligence. We-invent and manufacture home equipment for-specific functions. Tape recorders-for occasion are manufactured in giant numbers. It has by no means been-suggested that as a way to perceive what is sweet for the tape recorder-the producer ought to grow to be a-tape recorder himself. One simply-assumes that the producer will publish an instruction guide, since-he has full information of his-product. In quick the instruction-manual provides the dos and don’ts for the machine.

If you consider the human being as-a machine,it’s certainly a complex-creation of Allah. Our Lord and Creator Allah needn’t come-in the type of a human being to know what is sweet or dangerous for the human-being. He solely has to disclose the instruction guide to mankind. The Holy-Qur’an is the instruction guide for human beings.

Moreover, Allah will name this-creation to account on the Day of-Judgement. It due to this fact stands to purpose, that the Creator informs us-about the dos and don’ts of life.

Allah chooses Messengers:

Allah needn’t come down personally for writing the instruction-manual. Over the ages Allah has chosen males in each nation to deliver-the Divine message. Such chosen males are-called as messengers andprophets of God.

Some persons are ‘blind’ and ‘deaf’:

Despite the absurdity of the-philosophy of anthropomorphism, followers-of many religions imagine in and preach it to others. Is it not an insult to-human intelligence and to the Creator who gave us this intelligence?Such persons are actually ‘deaf’ and ‘blind’ regardless of the school of listening to and-sight given to them by Allah. The Holy Qur’an says:

Deaf, dumb and blind – so they won’t return [to the right path].
(Holy Qur’an 2:18)

The Bible provides an identical message within the Gospel of Mathew:

“Seeing they see not: and hearing-they hear not, neither do-they understand.”
(Matthew 13:13)

An identical message can also be given within the Hindu Scriptures within theRigveda

“There maybe someone who sees-the words and yet indeed do-not see them: may be another-one who hears these words but-indeed does not hear them”
(Rigveda 10:71:4)

All these Scriptures are telling its-reader that although the issues are-made so clear but they divert away from the reality.

Attributes of God:

To Allah belong essentially the most stunning names:

The Holy Qur’an says:

Say, “Call upon Allāh or call upon the Most Merciful [ar-Raḥmān]. Whichever [name] you call – to Him belong the best names.” And don’t recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly however search between that an [intermediate] manner.
(Holy Qur’an 17:110)

An identical message concerning the-beautiful names of Allah is repeated in-the Holy Qur’an in:

Surah Al-Aaraf (7:180), in Surah-Taha (20:8) and in Surah Al-Hashr(59:23-24)

The Qur’an provides at least 99-different attributes to Almighty God-and the crowning one is Allah. The Qur’an refers to Allah as Ar-Rahman-(Most Gracious), Ar-Raheem (Most Merciful) and Al-Hakeem (All Wise)amongst many different names. You can name Allah by any identify however that-name ought to be stunning and mustn’t conjure up a psychological image.

Each attribute of God is exclusive and-possessed by Him alone:

Not solely does God possess unique-attributes, but in addition every attribute of-Almighty God is enough to determine Him. I shall make clear this level in-detail. Suppose we take the instance of a well-known persona, say-astronaut Neil Armstrong.

SIMILAR POST:
THE FALLACY OF FIR'AUN'S BODY BEING INTACT

If somebody says Neil Armstrong is-an American The attribute of being-American possessed by Neil Armstrong is appropriate however not enough to-identify him. Similarly Neil Armstrong is an astronaut. The attribute of-being an astronaut will not be unigue to Neil Armstrong . To determine the-person uniguely we should search for a singular attribute. For instance, Neil-Armstrong was the primary human to set foot on the moon. So when one-asks, who was the primary man to set foot on the moon, the reply is only-one, i.e. Neil Armstrong. Similarly the-attribute of Almighty God should-be distinctive e.g. Creator of the Universe. If I say creator of the constructing,it might be doable and true however it’s not unigue.Thousands of individuals can-make a constructing, so there can be no distinction between man and God.But every attribute of Allah factors to none however Allah.

For instance:
“Ar-Raheem”, the Most Merciful
“Ar-Rahman””, the Most Gracious
“Al-Hakeem””, the Most Wise

So when one asks, who’s “Ar-Raheem””, the Most Merciful, there can be-only one reply, i.e. Almighty Allah.

One attribute of God ought to not-contradict with different attributes:

To proceed with the earlier-example, if anyone says Neil Armstrong-is an American astronaut who is barely 4 toes tall, the attribute(American astronaut) is appropriate however its related guality (solely 4 feet-tall) is fake. Similarly if somebody says that God is the Creator of the-Universe with one head, two palms, two toes, and so forth. the attribute (Creator-of the Universe) is appropriate however the-associated high quality (within the type of-human being) is fallacious and false.

All attributes ought to level to the-one and similar God:

Since there is just one God all the-attributes ought to level to 1 and the-same God. To say that Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut who-first set foot on the moon, however his the second was Edwin Aldrin is-wrong.Both have Unigue Oualities Similarly to say that the Creator is one-God and the Cherisher is one other God is absurd as a result of there may be only-one God with all these attributes mixed collectively.

Unity of God:

Some polytheists argue by saying-that the existence of greater than one-God will not be illogical. Let us level out to them that if there have been extra than-one God, they’d dispute with each other, every God attempting to fulfill-his will in opposition to the desire of the opposite Gods. This will be seen in the-mythology of the polytheistic and pantheistic religions. If a ‘God’ is-defeated or unable to defeat the others, he’s certainly not the one true-God. Also well-liked amongst polytheistic-religions is the concept of many Gods, every having completely different duties. Each one can be accountable for-a a part of man’s existence e.g. a Sun god, a-Rain god, and so forth. This indicates-that one ‘God’ is incompetent of sure acts and furthermore he’s also-ignorant of the opposite Gods’ duties and-responsibilities. There can’t be-an ignorant and incapable God. If there have been a couple of God it would-surely result in confusion, dysfunction, chaos and destruction within the Universe. But the universe is in full concord.

If there have been a couple of God,they’d have taken away-what they created. The Holy Qur’an says:

Thus the existence of 1 True,Supreme Almighty God, is the-only logical idea of God.

There are a number of religions like-Buddhism and Confucianism, that are agnostic religions. They don’t touch upon God.They neither verify nor deny-the existence of God. There are-other religions like Jainism, that are atheistic religions and-which don’t imagine within the existence of God.

(Inshallah I shall be publishing a-book “Is the Qur’an God’s-Word?” which might Alhamdulillah show the existence of Allah to an atheist or an agnostic by way of purpose, logic-and science on the idea of the Holy Qur’an.)

ALL RELIGIONS ULTIMATELY BELIEVE IN-MONOTHIESM:

All main religions that imagine in-the existence of God finally, on a-higher degree, imagine in a single supreme God. All spiritual scriptures actually-speak about monotheism i.e. perception in just one true God.

People change scriptures for his or her profit:

By the passage of time most of the-religious scriptures have been-distorted and altered by individuals for their very own advantages. The creed of-many religions has thus been distorted from monotheism to pantheism-Or polytheism. The Holy Qur’an says:

So woe[i.e., death and destruction,] to those that write the “scripture” with their very own palms, then say, “This is from Allāh,” as a way to alternate it for a small value. Woe to them for what their palms have written and woe to them for what they earn.

TAWHEED:

Definition and Categories:

Islam believes in Tawheed’ which-is not merely monotheism i.e. perception in-one distinctive God, however way more. Tawheed actually means “unification”i.e. “asserting oneness” and is derived from the Arabic verb ‘Wahhada’which means to unite, unify or consolidate.

Tawheed will be divided into 3 classes.

(1) Tawheed ar-Ruboobeeyah

(ii) Tawheed al-Asmaa-was-sifaat

(iii) Tawheed al-Ibaadah.

a. Tawheed ar-Ruboobeeyah(sustaining the unity of-Lordship)

The first class is “Tawheed-ar-Ruboobeeyah’. ‘Ruboobeeyah’ is-derived from the foundation verb “Rabb” which means Lord, Sustainer and-Cherisher.

Therefore”Tawheed-ar-Ruboobeeah’ means sustaining the unity of-Lordship. This class relies on the elemental idea that Allah-alone brought about all issues to exist when there was nothing. He created or-originated all that exists out of nothing. He alone is the only real Creator,Cherisher, and Sustainer of the entire universe and all between it,with none want from it or for it.

b. Tawheed al-Asmaa was-sifaat (sustaining the unity of-Allah’s identify and attributes):

The second class is ‘Tawheed-al Asmaa was Sifaat’ which means-maintaining the unity of Allah’s identify and attributes. This class is-divided into 5 elements:

(1) Allah ought to be referred to as-described by Him and His Prophet:

Allah should be referred to-according to the style during which He and His-prophet have described Him with out explaining His names and attributes-by giving them meanings aside from their apparent meanings.

(ii) Allah should be known as He-has referred to Himself

Allah should be referred to without-giving Him any new names or-attributes. For instance Allah is probably not given the identify al-Ghaadib(the Angry One), even though He has stated that He will get offended,as a result of neither Allah nor His messenger have used this identify.

(iii)Allah is referred to without-giving Him the attributes of His creation,

In a reference to God, we must always strictly abstain from giving Him the-attributes of these He has created. For occasion within the Bible, God is-portrayed as repenting for his dangerous ideas in the identical manner as humans-do after they understand their errors. This is totally in opposition to the principle-of Tawheed. God doesn’t repent and He doesn’t commit any mistakes-Or errors.

The key precept when dealing-with Allah’s attributes is given within the Holy-Qur’an in Surah Ash-Shurah:

“There is nothing Whatever like-unto Him, And He is the One. That hears and sees (all things).”

Although listening to and seeing are-human qualities, when attributed to the-Divine Being they’re with out comparability of their perfection, unlike-when related to people who reguire ears, eyes, and so forth. and who are-limited of their sight and listening to.

(iv) Men ought to to not be given any attribute of God:

To consult with a human with the-attribute of God can also be in opposition to the principle-of Tawheed. For instance, referring to an individual as one who has no-beginning or finish (everlasting).

(V) Allah’s identify can’t be given to-his creatures: Some divine names-in the indefinite type, like ‘Raoof’ or ‘Raheem’ are permissible names for-men as Allah has used them for Prophets: however ‘Ar-Raoof’ (the Most Pious)and Ar-Raheem (essentially the most Merciful)can solely be used if prefixed by ‘Abd’ which means “slave of” or “servant of”, i.e. ‘Abdur-Raoof’ or “Abdur-Raheem’.

He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the many cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him,[There is no similarity whatsoever between the Creator and His creation in essence, in attributes or in deed.] and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.[After Seeing add ftnt: Who sees and understands all things apparent and unapparent, visible and invisible.]

c. Tawheed al-Ibaadah (sustaining the unity of worship):

(1) Definition and which means of ‘Ibadaah’:

‘Tawheed al-Ibaadah’ means-maintaining the unity of worship or-Ibaadah’. Ibaadah is derived from Arabic phrase ‘Abd’ which means slave or-servant. Thus Ibaadah means servitude and worship. Salaah is one of-the highest types of Ibaadah i.e. worship however will not be the one type. People-misunderstand that worship of Almighty God solely means ritual prayers-but the idea of worship in Islam contains whole obedience, submission-and servitude. Following the commandments of God and abstaining from-things He has forbidden is Ibaadah (worship) and this worship is only-due to Allah alone and to nobody else.

(ii) All three classes to be-followed concurrently.

Only believing within the first two-categories of Tawheed with out implementing-Tawheed-al-Ibaadah is ineffective. The Qur’an provides the examples of “Mushrikeens” (idolaters) of the-Prophet’s time who confirmed the primary two-aspects of Tawheed. It is talked about within the Holy Qur’an:

Say: “Who is it that Sustains you(in life) From the sky-and from the earth? Or who’s itthat Has energy over-hearing And sight? And who Is it that brings out The-living from the useless And the useless from the residing?

Say, “Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who controls hearing and sight and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?” They will say, “Allāh,” so say, “Then will you not fear Him?”
(Holy Qur’an 10:31)

An identical instance is repeated in-Surah Zukhruf of the Holy Qur’an:

And in case you requested them[Those who associate others with Allāh] who created them, they’d certainly say, “Allāh.” So how are they deluded?
(Holy Qur’an 43:87)

The pagan Meccans knew that-Allah was their Creator, Sustainer, Lord-and Master. Yet they weren’t Muslims as a result of additionally they worshipped-other gods apart from Allah. Allah categorized them as “Kuffaars””(disbelievers) and “Mushrikeen” (idol worshippers and people who affiliate companions with God).

And most of them imagine not in Allāh besides whereas they affiliate others with Him.
(Holy Qur’an 12:106)

Thus Tawheed al-Ibaadah i.e.-maintaining the unity of worship is the-most vital facet of Tawheed. He alone deserves worship and He-alone can grant profit to man for his worship.

And if the fly ought to steal from them a [tiny] factor, they may not recuperate it from him.
