Football is a game of two halves and that’s why you cannot judge the outcome of a match based on just what happened in the first half. I have seen teams who played badly in the first half come out all guns blazing in the second half and they eventually clutched victory from the jaws of defeat.
In the Champions League finals of 1999, Bayern Munich led Manchester United right from the 6th minute of the game when Mario Basler converted a sublime freekick but guess what happened? Bayern Munich lost the game.
Bayern Munich were still ahead until the 90th minute when the referee signaled for 3 minutes of extra time but Manchester United scored two goals in those added minutes and won the cup.
Just like football, life is also a game of two halves. It is very important to start well but I believe ending well is much better than starting well. How you started is already in the past but how you end is part of the future and the future is much more important than the past.
The future is where you are going to end up i.e. where you are going to live and that’s why the last 6 months of 2022 i.e. July through December are very important. Don’t be discouraged if you haven’t yet met any of you goals for the year; you have another 6 months to do that.
Do an in-depth appraisal of what you need to do more of and what you need to do less of in order to find answers. Ask questions where possible; no one has ever missed it by asking questions and the answers will surely come.
As you do this taking a stand in faith with complementary action when and where necessary, I see you ending this year much better than you started it in Jesus’ name.
Remember it’s not yet the end of the game; the 2nd half just started and the beautiful thing is that you are also the referee of your life and you have the power to make every decision in your favour.
